Pin Cherry (Prunus pensylvanica) is a fast growing native tree with small tart red cherries that ripen in midsummer and feed birds and other wildlife.
The tree is very cold hardy but relatively short lived and develops shallow roots. It is used for wildlife habitat, reclamation, shelter, and naturalized plantings and can be susceptible to common cherry pests.
