The 'Makamik' crabapple, developed by Isabella Preston at Ottawa's Dominion Agricultural Experiment Station in 1933, is a vigorous, rounded apple tree popular for its ornamental appeal. The dark green leaves initially have  purple and bronze hues.  High resistance to apple scab.
