Makamik is a crabapple developed by Isabella Preston at Ottawa's Dominion Agricultural Experiment Station in 1933. It is a vigorous rounded tree valued for its ornamental effect, with dark green leaves that open with purple and bronze tones.
Makamik has high resistance to apple scab.
