Curly Willow (Salix sp.) - Zone 4/5
We have Curly Willow or Corkscrew Willow trees available, which are one of the cultivars ‘Tortuosa’ or ‘Golden Curls’. This selection has unique twisted branches and curly, lance-shaped leaves, providing unique visual interest year-round. These willows grow rapidly, reaching a mature height of 20-40 feet, depending on the specific variety. In winter, their contorted branches stand out, with younger stems often showing a yellow to golden hue, brightening the landscape during the colder months.
Curly Willows thrive in full sun to partial shade and prefer moist, well-drained soils but can tolerate a range of conditions, including periodic flooding or drought. They are ideal for ornamental plantings, erosion control, or as a fast-growing screen. Note these are for sheltered locations or warmer parts of Canada.
