Chinese Lantern Seeds

Chinese Lantern (Physalis alkekengi), also called Japanese Lantern or Winter Cherry, is a perennial grown for papery orange to red husks that enclose the fruit. The dried husks retain their colour and are often used in wreaths and flower arrangements.

Small white flowers open in summer before the lantern shaped husks develop.
