White Spruce
White Spruce is native across Manitoba and much of the boreal forest. It grows on many soil textures, with shallow spreading roots that need good drainage.
Norway Spruce
Norway Spruce has much larger cones and favours cool conditions. Hot, dry summers and permanently waterlogged soil can limit its growth.
