Hackberry fruit and seeds in early September

hackberry just has a thin coat like a candy shell over a large seed, not very filling but an interesting snack to nibble the sweet coat off a handful of seeds. the trees get tall and most of the fruit is far too high up to pick, but this tree had a few low branches. dark brown to black when ripe.
