Black Velvet gooseberry growth and harvest

black velvet gooseberries collected today, the bushes are three years old seem to outgrow most other gooseberries at our nursery, even the first year rooted plants are often a few inches taller. hybrid vigour likely. I picked all of the ripe ones today, there were just a few handfuls - and the most shaded fruit were still green so I'll check back in a week. these are interesting enough that I'll try a batch of seedlings from them next spring.
