Crandall Clove Currant Seedlings
Crandall is a selection within the clove currants, not a type of European black currant. These plants are seedlings, so the name records their parentage. Oak Summit has grown clove currant bushes at the farm for more than twenty years.
American Black Currant
American black currants are native shrubs rather than a named fruit cultivar. The species has thornless stems, and our local plants have an uneven harvest that can leave several stages of ripeness on a single cluster.
