Bunchberry (Cornus canadensis)

Bunchberry is a low, mat forming groundcover native to North American forests. Whorls of oval leaves surround small white to greenish flowers in late spring, followed by clusters of bright red berries in late summer. Plants grow only 6 to 8 inches tall and spread through cool, moist, acidic soil in partial to full shade. The berries feed birds and small mammals.
