Bebbs Willow

Bebbs willow Salix bebbiana is a native shrub from northern North America. Catkins open in early spring before leaf out; stems show gray green bark and narrow leaves with pale undersides. Upright multi stemmed habit tolerant of wet soils and used for reclamation and wildlife cover.   They often have distinctive galls on the branches, it's a small to medium sized willow tree, larger than Sandbar willow, it grows wild around our nursery and does well in dry soils, the tree in the photo is growing in sand.
