cherries, these are a collection of the hybrid sour cherries that we can grow on the Canadian prairies. They grow as a large bush or a multi stemmed shrub, fruit in July (ripe today July 16), and they're the result of decades of breeding work. nearly as large as a sweet cherry (P. avium), and when fully ripe they can have high brix, but certainly a brighter flavour with a hint of sour that gives them a good balance, they are excellent to eat fresh.

Semillas de cerezas ácidas grandes y sabrosas de la serie Romance, las plántulas tendrán alguna variación genética con frutos similares a los cultivares populares. Nuestras semillas son de una mezcla de Julieta, Valentín, Cupido, Romeo y Pasión Carmesí. Son un híbrido de cerezas 75 % Prunus cerasus y 25 % Prunus fruiticosa, llamado Prunus x kerrasis en honor al trabajo de cultivo del Dr. Kerr. Las cerezas ácidas son diferentes de las cerezas dulces comunes que se encuentran en el supermercado, miden entre 1/2" y 3/4", tienen un sabor excelente recién sacadas del árbol y, si bien son más ácidas, también tienen un alto contenido de azúcar cuando están completamente maduras.

Origen de la semilla: Manitoba

Estratificación: 1 mes de calor seguido de 3-5 meses de frío. Las semillas de cereza pueden beneficiarse de un período de estratificación cálida, seguido de varios meses de frío. Plantar al aire libre en otoño es un método simple y eficaz.
