Wild Sarsaparilla is a member of the Ginseng family, it's a perennial herb that grows well in the shade and covers the the walking trails in the forest up to about knee high. The leaves are edible, and quite tasty when they're small in the spring. It has a distinctive stalk that that branches into three stems with compound leaves. The plant has a history of medicinal uses, and the roots are also edible.

Stratification Required: 3-5 months of cold stratification. For best results plant outdoors in the fall and let nature do the rest.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place
Planting instructions: Plant outdoors in fall, or cold stratify in the fridge over the winter 3-5 months. Sow 1/4 - 1/2" deep and cover with mulch.
