White Mulberry tree seeds - the Tatarica variety (also called the Russian Mulberry) is considered the hardiest. Borderline hardy in Zone 3, we're experimenting with these in our orchard but they are better suited for hardiness Zone 4.
The most famous use for these trees is the food source for Silkworms. It's been naturalized through most of North America.

Package Contains: 150+ Seeds
Hardiness Zone: 4
Stratification Required: 1-3 months
Germination Testing: Cut test 98%
Seed weight: Small seeds 1000 per gram
Storage: Store at subfreezing temperatures for best shelf life. Seeds can be viable for several years.
Planting instructions: Fall plant into prepared seed beds, or cold stratify in a refrigerator and plant into seedbeds or pots in the spring. Sow 1/4" deep and cover with mulch. Seedlings require half shade for a few weeks after germination.

Prairie note: this is the white mulberry we recommend for the Canadian prairies, where it is the mulberry we consider cold hardy enough for that context, especially in sheltered sites and favorable microclimates. In warmer provinces, especially Ontario, white mulberry can behave invasively and can hybridize with threatened native red mulberry populations. Please plant responsibly and only order this species where it makes sense for your climate and ecological context.
