White Mulberry Seeds (Morus alba var. tatarica) - Zone 4 - 150+ Seeds

Tatarian White Mulberry, also called Russian Mulberry, is the most cold hardy form of Morus alba. It is borderline in Zone 3 and is more reliable in Zone 4, although we are testing it in a sheltered prairie orchard. White mulberry is also well known as the traditional food plant for silkworms.

This is the white mulberry we consider most suitable for the Canadian prairies where a favourable microclimate and snow cover are available. In warmer provinces it can behave invasively and can hybridize with threatened native red mulberry populations, so it should be planted only where it is ecologically appropriate.
