Sugar Rush Peach is a peach ripening Capsicum baccatum pepper with fruity flavour, crisp walls, and lively heat. It is excellent for fresh salsa, hot sauce, fruit based sauces, and pickles where sweetness and heat both matter. The plants can be vigorous and the season is long, so start early and give heat where possible in Manitoba. Ripe peach colour is the best harvest stage for full flavour.
Origin and history
Sugar Rush Peach was bred by Chris Fowler in Wales from an accidental insect made cross among baccatum/aji peppers, then stabilized as a named variety.
