The Rosybrook apple, also known as Rosybrook Applecrab, is a versatile and hardy cultivar developed by the Alberta Horticulture Research Centre in Brooks, Alberta, Canada. This variety was introduced in 1980, originating from a cross between Trail and Rescue applecrabs in 1969. Rosybrook apples are characterized by their round shape, measuring about 1 ½ to 2 inches (4 to 5 cm) in diameter. They have a pale yellowish-green skin mostly covered with rosy-red. The flesh is white, finely-textured, crisp, and offers a slightly sweet taste.

This apple is well-suited for various culinary uses, including fresh eating, canning, cooking, and juicing. Its storage potential is noteworthy, with estimates ranging from 9 to 12 weeks of shelf life in proper conditions.

Ripens: Early to mid-September
Size: 1 ½ to 2 inches (4 to 5 cm)
Cold hardiness zone: 2
