Red Maple (Acer rubrum) is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America. Red flowers and winged seed appear before the leaves in spring, and the autumn foliage can turn red, orange, or yellow.
Red Maple grows in sun or partial shade and adapts to soils ranging from moist to seasonally dry, although it performs best in moist acidic soil and can show nutrient deficiencies in alkaline ground.
