Purple Gooseberry (Ribes sp.)

A gooseberry bush on our farm, unknown cultivar.  Medium size berries that ripen to purple in late summer.   The parent bush is growing well in full shade under an old spruce tree, and even growing branches into the boughs of the tree. We've planted rooted cuttings from this bush in some dry neglected locations around the yard and found they grow quickly in full sun and are surprisingly drought tolerant.
