Polar Jewel is a selected Russian cultivar with robust growth and large sweet berries. It typically reaches about 4 to 5 feet tall and wide. It prefers well drained soil with a slightly acidic to neutral balance and grows best in full sun, though it can handle partial shade.
Berries are elongated and dark blue with a sweet flavor. They ripen in early to mid summer and are good for fresh eating, jam, jelly, and baking. It pairs well with early bloomers such as Borealis or Tundra. Aurora and Honey Bee also overlap in many regions.
