Pixwell Gooseberry is a hardy, productive shrub known for its abundant yield of small to medium-sized, pale green berries that ripen to a pinkish hue in mid-summer. The fruit has a tart yet mildly sweet flavor, ideal for pies, jams, jellies, or fresh eating when fully ripe. The berries hang on short stems, just below the branches, making them relatively easy to pick — hence the name “Pixwell” (picked well).

This variety thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Pixwell Gooseberry is relatively compact and has a rounded form, with fewer thorns than many other gooseberry varieties, making it more gardener-friendly. It is also resistant to common diseases such as mildew, making it a low-maintenance choice for colder climates. This gooseberry can be planted as a productive edible hedge or in mixed borders for its ornamental appeal and fruit production.
