Pagoda Dogwood is a native tree closely related to Redosier Dogwood (Cornus sericea) and Bunchberry (Cornus canadensis), with similar leaf shapes to the low laying Bunchberry plant despite being a tree that grows 15-25 feet tall. It has an attractive and distinctive tiered branching structure, giving it a pagoda-like appearance. Its broad, alternately arranged dark green leaves turn reddish-purple in the fall. In late spring, clusters of small, white, fragrant flowers bloom, followed by blue-black berries on red stalks in late summer, which attract birds and wildlife.
