Evans Cherry is a hardy sour cherry variety originally discovered in Alberta, Canada. This small, compact tree reaches 12-15 feet in height, or for high production often pruned as a bush. It grows clusters of bright red cherries that ripen in mid to late summer. The fruit is tart but excellent for pies, jams, jellies, and even fresh eating once fully ripe. Evans Cherry is known for its high yields and reliable production, even in harsh conditions.
Thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating a range of soil types. It is self pollinating.
