Dahurian Larch (Larix gmelinii), also called Olga Bay Larch, is among the cold hardiest trees in the world and can survive temperatures near −70°C. It is native to Siberia and northern parts of Mongolia, China, and Korea.
Like other larches, it is a deciduous conifer that sheds its needles after they turn yellow orange in fall. One recorded specimen in Yakutia was more than 900 years old.
