Bogataya is a winter pear bred in Chelyabinsk, Russia, for cold climates. Its large, round fruit has greenish yellow skin and sweet flavour, with a reported storage life of up to three months. Fruit ripens in October.
The nursery is evaluating Bogataya locally; young trees survived their first Manitoba winter.
