American Wild Plum Seeds (Prunus americana) - Zone 3 - 15 Seeds
American Plum is a versatile and cold-hardy fruit tree that produces small, round plums with a sweet-tart taste. The fruit ranges in color from yellow to deep red when ripe and they're good to eat fresh or make jams and jellies. Wild plums have some diverse genetics and range from 5/8-1" in size and are ripe here in late August. The trees are cold hardy and have some ornamental value with lots white flowers in the spring, and they're an excellent pollinator for other plums. If you have a cultivar plum tree, adding some wild plums will improve pollination and give you a better crop. They like to grow as a multi-stemmed shrub or small tree. They grows best in full sun. Excellent as a pollinator, food for wildlife and people, and we grow them for rootstocks in our nursery to graft over to many plums cultivars.
