A closer look
Red Currant
Red currants bear much of their fruit on spurs on wood two or three years old. The berries hang in strings that can be picked as whole clusters for jelly and sauces.
Crandall Clove Currant
Crandall can carry enough fruit for its canes to bend under the crop. Its mild black berries are quite different from the sharper flavour of red currants.
