A closer look
Nanking Cherry
Nanking is mostly self sterile. A single bush can occasionally set fruit, but two or more generally produce a much better crop through cross pollination.
Pin Cherry
Pin cherries ripen in mid to late July around the nursery. The tree grows quickly on open ground and along forest edges, where its fruit is also taken by birds.
