wild saskatoon

wild saskatoon. it's a good year for them, lots of rain and no early frosts, a gallon on one bush along the laneway. the fruit are larger than usual with the ideal conditions. I'll collect these and keep the seed to grow, and also some cultivar ones over the next week. awesome time of the year when the trees just hang with purple fruit. if you haven't had these, they're something like a mild blueberry.
