Underwood plum ripening in mid August

underwood plum, a small plum ripe in mid august, good flavour with slightly astringent skin, clingstone, it's like a very good wild plum. it's a 1921 introduction, and it's a cross between american wild plum and shiro. it's described as medium to large, and this was the first year the tree has fruited and there were just a few so maybe we'll get larger ones next year.
