Sapa cherry plum on an old spreading bush

sapa cherry plum, on an old bush that spreads about five ft tall and wide. these were ripe a couple of weeks ago in mid august, a few are still firm and hanging on. sapa is the oldest of this lineage of chums, later sapalta was a seedling a slight improvement, and really manor and dura, even mustang are similar. like a plum sized sand cherry, deep red inside, tasty and clingstone with slightly astringent skin. a hybrid between western sandcherry and wild plum, they grow as a bush and can be very productive with good pollination. I collected a small lot from this bush and will grow out the seeds next spring, likely producing similar bushes with a bit of variation, usually these are propagated with softwood cuttings.
