a large fruiting selection of Ribes odoratum

a large fruiting selection of Ribes odoratum, maybe a seedling of Crandall. It has uneven ripening, very large fruit size like small grapes and 2.5g. the bush is at least twenty years old, just starting to ripen at the end of July, the fruit is better tasting than other clove currants I've tried, a hint of that sweet and maybe herbal/spice flavour in Crandall but with more of the astringency found in some black currants. good for preserves, you can eat them fresh, really more notable just for the size. I made some cuttings this year to add this accession, and I'm interested to get some others to fruit for a side by side. in this species I have cultivars named black giant, missouri giant, crandall and then seedlings of a u of s missouri currant, and some related Ribes aureum.. all of which may need another year to fruit.
