European Mountain Ash Seeds (Sorbus aucuparia) - Zone 3 - 100+ Seeds

European Mountain Ash seed collected locally in Manitoba. The trees were hanging with large clusters of orange fruit in September. Also known as Rowan, mountain ash is known for its persistent clusters of berries and feathery compound leaves. The berries have a tart, slightly bitter flavor, and while most people leave them for wildlife as for their ornamental value they can be used in jellies. The tree is native to Europe and parts of Asia. The European Mountain Ash has larger berries and can grow to be a larger tree than the related American Mountain Ash.
