Seeds collected from native Downy Arrowwood, a hardy viburnum found in Manitoba woodlands. This shrub grows with an upright, multi stemmed form and produces clusters of white spring flowers followed by black fruit in late summer. Leaves are ovate with sharply toothed margins and a characteristic downy texture on the underside, giving the plant its name.
Downy Arrowwood is valued for wildlife habitat, with flowers that attract pollinators and fruit that provides food for birds. It tolerates shade and a range of soil conditions, making it well suited to naturalized plantings, shelterbelts, and understory restoration projects.
