I also have a wood working shop, it feels full circle to grow some of the trees that are the hardwood I've been milling and cnc'ing, drilling. sanding and finishing for years. I think woodworking got me more interested in horticulture, nearly every exotic wood has a unique smell, and often very distinct color and grain like this grey and black ziricote I was working with this morning, it has cascading grain that reflect the crazy way the tree grows. left is tigerwood, orange with occasional black stripes, but the craziest thing about it how waxy the material is. on the right is walnut, the same species we grow.
