Cherry Plum Seeds (Prunus sp.) - Cherry Plum Trees - (Zone 3) - 15 Seeds

We collected local cherry plums seeds, which are hybrid plum trees with small plums about 1” in size. Very productive and grows well in a bushy form or as a large 12-15 ft shrub. Unknown cultivar, dark red with yellow flesh, clingstone, skin not bitter, they’re very tasty. Fully hardy to -40C / -40F.

Stratification Required: 1-2 months warm followed by 4-6 months cold.

Planting instructions: Our seeds are fresh to preserve viability. We recommend keeping them refrigerated for short term storage, and fall planting into prepared seed beds. Keep seeds in the bag, and optionally soak in water for 24 hrs before planting. Sow 1-2" deep and cover with mulch. Add squirrel and rodent protection like wire mesh or hardware cloth and keep it in place for the first growing season.
