Seeds for Trees - Perennial Plants - Annuals

We collect local seeds from trees and native perennial plants to grow in our nursery, and we also make our seeds available here. The seed source and collection year along with the cold hardiness zone and some growing details are listed. For northern gardeners, all of our locally sourced seeds are from Southern Manitoba and fully hardy to Zone 3b (-37C/-35F). Many of the seeds we offer have a food forest in mind, most of them are perennial and are best to grow in garden beds or pots for a year or more, and then transplant in the spring or fall. Where we list the need to stratify or pre-chill your seeds which is common for trees the easiest method is to plant outdoors in the fall, but it's also easy to hydrate the seeds in late winter and keep them in your fridge until you're ready to plant spring.
